We are excited to announce that our lab's PI, Dr. Liat Shenhav, has been awarded the prestigious DP2 New Innovator Award for her groundbreaking project titled "BREATH - Breastfeeding, Early-life Microbiome, and Respiratory Health Study." This highly competitive grant recognizes innovative research approaches and provides substantial support to early-career investigators working on high-impact projects. The BREATH study will investigate how breastfeeding influences the early-life microbiome and its crucial role in shaping respiratory health. By exploring the interactions between breastfeeding, microbial colonization, and immune system development, this research aims to uncover new insights into promoting healthy respiratory outcomes in infants.
